Responsibilities

  • Installation, troubleshooting, inspection, calibration, and repairs of plant instrumentation and electrical systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial instruments and analyzers including transmitters, programmable logic controllers, meters, and automatic valves
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment below 600 volts including motors, backup generators, uninterruptible power supplies, breakers, and transformers
  • Work with switchgear control systems and rack breakers in and out
  • Read and maintain piping and instrumentation diagrams and schematic wiring diagrams in compliance with standard operating procedures, quality assurance, and management of change policies
  • Perform lock-out tag-out procedures and issue permits for electrical work
  • Facilitate contractor management to ensure safe and efficient completion of electrical maintenance activities
  • Ensure compliance with all functional testing requirements related to quality assurance, including isolation circuit tests
  • Maintain critical spare parts inventory for instrumentation and electrical systems
  • Plan, schedule, estimate costs, procure materials, coordinate, and perform instrumentation and electrical activities during site outages
  • Understand process loop interactions and their impact on operations
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers and diagnostics
  • Prepare and execute small projects aimed at improving facility availability and reliability
  • Support root cause analysis programs for routine and major failures of electrical systems
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems to plan and execute maintenance activities, including parts procurement and documentation completion
  • Support plant operations by making control changes as needed
  • Perform work outdoors in variable weather conditions, at elevated heights, or in confined spaces

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Associate in Applied Sciences Degree or equivalent apprenticeship (preferred)
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in an industrial environment (strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of chemical plants, with a preference for industrial gas plant processes
  • Experience with installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment
  • Working knowledge of Hazardous Work Permits and Management of Change processes (required)
  • Excellent communication, team interaction, and presentation skills
  • Self-starter comfortable working independently, managing multiple tasks, and achieving results with minimal supervision
  • Positive attitude with adaptability to changing situations and strong ability to build and maintain productive relationships across departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • On-call availability required for 24/7 operation environment including nights, weekends, and holidays for plant emergencies, outages, shutdowns, and turnaround work

Pay

Salary range: $67,079 - $101,316
