Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

About the role

Reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor and working in a collaborative community, you will support safety efforts in your department and participate in programs and systems to promote a safety culture at the site.

• Install electrical equipment, instrumentation, and related equipment using drawings and manuals supplied (PLC, DCS, MCC, Field Instruments, Control Panels, Valves, HVAC, Lighting, UPS, Transformers, Motors, Conduit, Cables).
• Perform overhauls, troubleshoot, repair, and conduct preventive maintenance (PM) on instrumentation and electrical equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, time spent on jobs, and materials used.
• Recommend and implement improvement ideas/methods for maintenance to lower costs, improve equipment performance and reliability, and enhance personnel safety.
• Ensure all maintenance practices comply with State and Federal environmental regulations.
• Comply promptly and timely with the site’s quality system databases (CPAR, Customer Complaints, QSA, etc.).
• Understand, support, and strictly adhere to site standards, policies, and procedures relevant to safety, industrial hygiene, security/CTPAT requirements, and environmental.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required. Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and one year of related experience; or 3 or more years of E&I process manufacturing experience with a trade school diploma/certification desired.

• Basic working knowledge of the Materials Management and Production Planning modules in SAP.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word Processing software (Microsoft Office, including Access).
