Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

We are seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician who is passionate about their field and eager to contribute to our dynamic and growing company. With over 20 years of experience, we specialize in designing, building, installing, and maintaining systems for clients in various industries including renewables, data centers, oil and gas, food and beverage, manufacturing, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical expertise to plant personnel during equipment problems, repair, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations
- Sets up, calibrates, tests, measures, and repairs all types of electrical controls, instruments, and electronic components
- Collects equipment operation history and data to facilitate reliability improvements
- Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis
- Performs preventative maintenance of equipment and instrument calibrations
- Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment
- Acts as a proactive member of the team, identifying and implementing process improvements, and maintaining a preventative attitude
- Maintains effective and efficient service by monitoring controls and electrical equipment
- Ensures preventative maintenance procedures are carried out in accordance with SOP, SSOP, and in a timely manner
- Sets up and operates tools used to diagnose and repair equipment
- Dismantles functional systems and tests components
- Starts system, observes operation, reads, and calibrates gauges and instruments, and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls, pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature in plant systems
- Keeps maintenance shop and assigned areas neat, clean, and organized
- Configures Hart smart devices using a HART communicator
- Works well with the maintenance department to help solidify electrical repairs and assist with projects
- Supports and encourages greater employee teamwork
- Follows OSHA and safety regulations
- Communicates safety issues to managers and safety department
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the field
- Associate’s degree in Instrumentation or Certification
- Ability to test, calibrate, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic devices and equipment
- Proficient at Single and Three Phase motors and motor control systems
- Skilled in Installing electrical gear, equipment, and devices
- Read blueprints, schematics, and manuals to understand installation procedures
Qualifications
- Physical demands: Must be able to lift to 60 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels
- Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet
- Requires standing for extended periods with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors
Skills
- Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation technology
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations

Pay
The base pay range for this position is $38.00 to $58.00 per hour. Please note that the compensation range reflects the base pay only and does not include benefits or bonuses. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
