Electrical Inspector or Senior Electrical Inspector

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate digital inspection records
• Review plans and specifications for compliance with City-approved standards
• Conduct plan reviews to identify code or zoning issues
• Perform field inspections of new and existing structures
• Follow up on violations
• Provide clear guidance on electrical code interpretation to contractors and property owners
• At the senior level, provide training, mentorship, and day-to-day work leadership to inspection staff
• Support supervisory functions

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical inspection or related field
• Knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some college coursework in electrical engineering or related field preferred
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to operate a variety of inspection equipment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
