Electrical Field Technician – Downhole & Surface System
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Install and commission low- and medium-voltage equipment (HCU, transformers, junction boxes, cabling)
- Support system startup and commissioning activities
- Oversee or support medium-voltage splicing and terminations
- Troubleshoot recurring electrical issues and implement practical field solutions
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled testing
- Provide on-site technical guidance to customers and field crews
- Contribute to improving field procedures and equipment reliability
Minimum Qualifications
- 3–7 years of oil & gas electrical field experience
- Experience with control panels, switchgear, PLC and/or SCR systems
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 30–60%, project dependent)
Core Competencies
- Technical or engineering degree preferred, strong field experience highly valued
- Moderate-voltage splicing and termination exposure preferred
- Background in service company, operator, downstream, onshore or offshore environments
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and mechanical aptitude
