Primary Responsibilities
- Learn to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair issues as they relate to control systems and their components and motors. - Identify and assist with repair needs. - Receive on-the-job training from Field Engineers. - Complete necessary service documentation. - Maintain tools and test equipment properly. - Communicate with customers on technical questions and specifications in accordance with Field Service Engineers directions. - Complete necessary service, time tracking, and expense documentation. - Ensure that all completed work meets Flanders' Standards and complies with Flanders' ISO Quality System. - Communicate clearly, concisely, and with accuracy to employees, customers, and vendors.Skills & Qualifications
- Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- An associates degree and/or trade school degree in electrical or mechanical studies preferred.
- Or practical electrical experience in mining, metal, mills or heavy industrial industries.
- Experience:
- Three years electrical experience in a shop, field service and/or similar environment.
- Mining and metals industry experience preferred.
- Other:
- Knowledge of AC and DC motors.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and/or variable frequency drive (VFD) systems for machine troubleshooting.
- Ability to take after-hours calls.
- Strong math skills including algebra, trigonometry, and analytical geometry skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills working directly with customers at the customer's work sites.
