Responsibilities
- Installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems, including PDP, Junction Boxes and Terminal Blocks, Lights, Outlets, DIN-Rail, DIN-Rail Terminal Blocks and Fuses.
- Install & mount field devices, terminating cables to instrumentation, marshaling cabinets and junction boxes.
- Run conduit and pull wires for high and low voltage, connecting wiring and electrical circuits, ranging from low-voltage DC to 480V, 3-phase Heavy Motor, Actuator etc., ensuring compatibility of the components while adhering to safety practices and PPE requirements.
- Completes necessary paperwork, including work orders, part orders, billing and/or warranty information, as applicable.
- Frequent interaction/communication with customers concerning repairs and service needs.
- Maintains an orderly work area and/or service truck.
- Adheres to and supports AMECO’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
- Meets expectations on attendance and punctuality.
- Plans, organizes, and carries out assignments as directed.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively (oral and written), able to follow instructions and adhere to company policies & procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, Electrician, or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
- Able to reference, understand and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints.
- A combination of education and related equipment troubleshooting and repair experience equaling six (6) + years.
- Experience work with a variety of tools including multimeters, manual tools (pliers, wire strippers, line pullers etc.) and Power Tools (Drilling, Impacts, Grinder, Saws, etc.) as necessary is a must.
- Basic knowledge of the difference between power and control wiring.
- Understanding cable sizing, using correct ferrule and crimp sizes.
- Working with a Control Cabinet and Electrical Control Boxes would be a plus.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals (diagrams, etc.) as provided.
- Electrical schematics/drawing would be a plus but not necessary.
- Ability to drive a forklift is a must.
- Able to perform physical requirements of the job, including, but not limited to lifting, climbing, standing for extended periods of time, and working in inclement weather as workload/assignment dictate.
- Willingness to work flexible hours (to include working weekends) and travel to customer sites as needed.
- The selected candidate must supply own basic tools, larger tools provided.
