Electrical Estimator

Amteck is seeking candidates to fulfill an Estimator of Special Services position, to work in our Lexington, KY office. Primary Role An Estimator is responsible for cost calculations to determine how much it will cost a company to complete a project or provide products and services to its clients. They do this by researching the costs of the materials, transport, labor, and equipment. This position reports to the Estimation Manager and takes direction from and provides support to the Vice President of Service Operations in the Lexington office. Responsibilities Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labor, and equipmentEstablishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendorsGetting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frameAssessing the risk levels associated with a projectPreparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be doneAssisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyersMonitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costsTravel to assigned projects as needed to gain a better understanding of the work Requirements Minimum of 2 years of field experience in electrical construction, industrial and commercialDemonstrated experience pricing and budgeting electrical construction projects ranging from $500K to $30M or moreAbility to multi-task in a high volume, fast paced work environment with very tight deadlinesCommitment to providing exceptional customer serviceAbility to travel periodicallyStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience with Accubid Anywhere and LiveCount Cloud softwareStrong overall computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, as well as industry-specific softwareAbility to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively In 1977 Amteck was founded in Central Kentucky with the belief that growth only comes by listening and responding to both clients and employees.
