Electrical Estimator
Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
- Handles the project from first estimate all the way through project handoff.
- Demonstrates understanding and enthusiastic agreement with the vision and mission of EIG.
- Collaborates with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to provide a significant impact on the success of the company and deliver on our mission.
- Provides a complete project cost evaluation by looking beyond given information, asking the right questions, and working to inform customers.
- Works aggressively to provide innovative solutions to complex issues related to cost, lead-times, trade partners, and specified products or materials.
- Makes reliable predictions about cost and is comfortable estimating across all scopes of work.
- Prepares detailed conceptual cost estimates and conceptual cost studies from schematic and feasibility level documentation.
- Develops variance summaries between estimates and value engineering studies throughout the project's evolution.
- Assembles a complete presentation-worthy estimate package that clearly communicates project cost.
- Collaborates with the project team to establish necessary staffing and project requirements.
- Has knowledge and understanding of unit costs and factors affecting construction cost.
- Prepares detailed instructions to bidders, trade-specific clarifications, and comprehensive bid packages.
- Participates in the bidding process, soliciting bids, communicating with bidders, evaluating subcontractor proposals, using bid tally sheets, etc.
- Makes subcontractor award recommendations to the customer/owner and negotiates and finalizes subcontracts with trade partners.
- Prepares and presents cost and budget information to the customer/owner.
- Engages and develops business with new and existing customers.
- Participates in Value Engineering sessions with the project team and design team.
Requirements

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including both written and verbal communication.
Ability to identify, adapt to, and resolve complex issues.
Effective participation in a team environment, both externally and internally.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software (WinEst, Timberline, or similar), take-off software (Accubid Livecount or similar), BIM tools (Revit, Assemble, etc.), project management software (CMiC or similar), or scheduling software (Primavera or similar).
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Electrical Commercial Construction as an Estimator, preferably within DPR core markets.
Prior experience with prefabrication or modular construction highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree a plus, but not required.
Field experience a plus, but not required.
Experience with Design/Build and Design/Assist projects a plus.
