ENERCON is seeking a leader to join our team supporting nuclear design across the industry. With a focus on leadership of technical electrical engineering teams, this position promises professional growth and the chance to make a meaningful impact within the highly desirable and growing energy sector. This position will be based in Glendale, AZ (Suburb of Phoenix), Naperville, IL (Suburb of Chicago), Fort Worth, TX, Plano, TX (Suburb of Dallas), or San Luis Obispo, CA.

The electrical technical team provides support of projects across the Nuclear Services Group including technical evaluations to support minor and major modifications of low and medium voltage AC systems including main generator systems, electrical protection systems, control systems, power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, panels, motors, and DC distribution systems including batteries, inverters, and chargers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the focal point for initial unit contact to Management, Project Managers (PMs), and other internal constituents.
  • Direct and assign work to the unit to balance activities between work groups and individuals.
  • Approve timesheets and expense reports.
  • Conduct the unit’s annual performance appraisals.
  • Support management in recruiting new employees.
  • Maintain responsibility for the unit’s quality; establish and enforce quality standards for the unit through the Lead Engineers.
  • Certify design documents as required by state and local client and code requirements.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership, providing resolution to technical issues either through own knowledge or by coordination with Subject Matter Experts.
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure the unit meets budget and schedule for assigned projects.
  • Approve engineering documents produced by the unit.
  • Lead proposal preparation with input for scope and budget to PMs.
  • Develop professional relationships with client counterparts.
  • Assist in marketing the unit’s expertise and abilities to clients.
  • Provide timely and appropriate performance feedback and coaching.
  • Promote professional development of staff (e.g., professional license, certifications, training, mentoring, and client qualifications).
  • Support company policies and procedures.
  • Support maintenance of short- and long-range staffing plans based on work projections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in design engineering in power generation or nuclear power with at least 2 of those years of experience as a group lead or supervisor.
  • Professional Engineering License is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and technical team needs, typically a few days.
  • Ability to motivate team and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style.
  • Proven experience with a high level of decision making, directing and overseeing routine and advanced technical work performed by others.
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.

Pay

Compensation Range: USD $107,600.00 - USD $204,000.00 /Yr.
