You will collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to design and evaluate current and future products, ensuring performance specifications, manufacturing requirements, and agency compliance are met. Our engineering team is responsible for developing the batteries, motors, and electronics that power innovative solutions, with every phase of development happening in-house. We invest heavily in electrical engineering to lead in electronic capabilities, pushing boundaries in firmware, power electronics, embedded systems, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of senior engineers, design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot power electronics applications.
  • Simulate, design, and validate various AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC topologies using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and data acquisition systems.
  • Create design documents, including schematics, layouts, bills of materials, test plans, and test reports.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Milwaukee Tool’s development and manufacturing processes.
  • Independently analyze schematics and systems to define all layout requirements.
  • Collaborate proactively with electrical and mechanical engineers to deliver tightly packaged PCB designs.
  • Establish expertise in agency requirements and best practices for high-voltage/frequency layouts, EMI mitigation, and thermal management optimization.
  • Manage your own layout requests, scheduling, and planning while proactively communicating with the team to resolve conflicts.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and document technical layout review meetings and formal presentations.
  • Apply a manufacturing mindset to designs to ensure efficient mass production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of power electronics, including switch-mode power supply topologies and semiconductor component selection.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout software, SPICE, MATLAB, and industry best practices for PCB design.
  • Strong foundation in circuit theory, tolerance analysis, and design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated, organized, efficient, process-oriented, and with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout software, SPICE (circuit simulation tools), and industry best practices.

Benefits

  • Robust health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • Generous 401(k) savings plan.
  • Education assistance.
  • On-site wellness, fitness center, food, and coffee service.
