Responsibilities
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics for various electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems
- Aid in the design and analysis of electrical systems for a variety of projects under the guidance of senior engineers, including panel boards, switchgear, and transformers
- Perform lighting calculations and simulations to optimize lighting levels, uniformity, and energy efficiency, utilizing advanced lighting design software and techniques
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes, standards, and regulations throughout the design process, obtaining necessary approvals and permits as required
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mechanical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure electrical systems are seamlessly integrated with all other aspects of building designs
- Support project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities, ensuring timely and successful project delivery
- Pursue opportunities for professional development and continuing education to enhance technical knowledge, skills, and expertise in electrical design and related disciplines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field from an ABET accredited university
- Engineer-in-Training Certification
- Previous experience designing low-voltage systems in the MEP consulting field, preferably on large commercial and retail projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit with a demonstrable track record of producing high-quality electrical drawings and models
- Knowledge of electrical systems, practices, and standards, including but not limited to NEC, NFPA, IESNA, IECC, and IEEE regulations
- Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, other regulatory authorities to achieve project objectives and deliver successful outcomes
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
