What You’ll Do
- Electrical power system reliability improvement projects.
- Participation in root cause failure analysis and execution of associated corrective actions.
- Troubleshooting of electrical power systems related issues, such as power outages, electrical faults, and equipment failures.
- Software based electrical power system modelling (including data collection, field verification, and model modifications).
- Work on electrical power system relay network expansion.
- Analysis of existing electrical preventative maintenance plans, and development and implementation of new plans.
- Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.
- Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
- Adhere to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.
What You’ll Need
- Third year level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Electrical Engineering.
- 2.7 GPA or higher.
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory to include AC distribution and transformation, AC/DC motor control, power/analog/digital electronics and electromagnetic properties.
- Experience with electrical power system modelling software would be an asset.
- Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
- 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
- Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship.
