Our client is a global engineering, procurement, construction, and consulting company that provides infrastructure and energy solutions, specializing in sectors such as energy, water, telecommunications, and environmental services.
About the role
This is a 12-month onsite position in Rancho Cordova, CA, with the potential to transition to a permanent role for the right candidate. Pay rate ranges from $65.00 to $73.42 per hour on a W2 basis.
Responsibilities
- Function in an engineering capacity, developing and modifying technical deliverables for modifications and upgrades on existing hydroelectric generating plants.
- Apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses with minimal supervision, addressing complex engineering problems.
- Develop and apply knowledge of design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and client policies.
- Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
- Independently comply with the client’s quality program and prepare complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects.
- Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and materials selection.
- Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
- Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Delegate tasks to lower-level team members to develop project execution staff.
- Review lower-level engineering work or assignments.
- Lead production teams, coordinate multiple discipline activities, or serve as the responsible charge for a project.
- Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects.
- Assist with identifying key client interests and drivers on low to moderately complex projects.
- Design complete projects of moderately complex scope or support multiple projects addressing complex technical challenges.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in hydro or fossil power generation plant design.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 and the California Electrical Code.
- Experience with power system analysis software such as SKM or ETAP is a plus.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam.
- PE license preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized accredited program.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
