About the role
The Client ADG (Aerospace, Defense, Government Business Unit) Customer Centric Solutions Team is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to work on custom engineering opportunities that enable the sale of standard NI Products. This is a 12-month position focused on defining, documenting, designing, deploying, and sustaining NI products tailored to meet specific customer requirements for large-scale turnkey engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Interact with NI customers, staff, external alliance partners, and suppliers to design, implement, and sustain custom solutions.
- Generate requirements documents, statements of work, and Bills of Materials.
- Define and implement project plans, manage milestones, and conduct reviews to ensure systems meet requirements and are ready for deployment.
- Specify, design, prototype, test, and deploy turnkey automated solutions.
- Direct support personnel, manage project technical deliverables, guide technical decisions, and drive resolution of field-found issues.
- Travel as needed (up to 25%) domestically and abroad in support of project objectives.
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electronics Engineering Technology.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience in a Hardware Systems Design Role or a Test Engineering Design Role.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering, electronics, and computer architectures.
- Understanding of high-level programming languages (LabVIEW, TestStand, C/C++/C#).
- Demonstrated understanding of the following concepts and principles:
- Sources of measurement error
- Appropriate selection of instrumentation and equipment
- Understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams
- Integration of hardware and software
- Bill of Materials creation and review
- Familiarity with CAD and PCB design tools
- Statistical analysis of data (Cp, Cpk, GR&R)
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on use of schematic capture tools and PCB design tools.
- Knowledge in component supplier selection.
- Knowledge in compliance certifications (CE, UL, TUV, etc.).
- Hands-on use of NI Hardware Platforms and Instruments.
- Hands-on use of NI LabVIEW and TestStand.
- Demonstrated ability to:

- Lead teams in test and measurement system design.
- Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently.
