Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for heavy commercial and industrial projects, ensuring full compliance with NEC, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop and manage electrical drawings using Revit, including power distribution, lighting, and low voltage systems.
- Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and stakeholders to deliver integrated building designs that meet project specifications and client expectations.
- Conduct load calculations and equipment sizing to ensure optimal performance, safety, and efficiency.
- Prepare technical specifications and detailed documentation for electrical systems and components.
- Review project requirements, cost estimates, and timelines to ensure alignment with scope and deliverables.
- Support our company’s scanning and modeling workflow as we expand our prefabrication platform.
- Translate field conditions and design intent into detailed prefab-ready drawings that support efficient off-site assembly of conduit racks, panels, and modular systems.
- Cook up closely with fabrication and field teams to ensure drawings reflect constructability, sequencing, and installation logistics.
- Use Revit and BIM tools to develop spool sheets, exploded views, and annotated layouts that guide prefabrication and streamline field deployment.
- Integrate scan data and point cloud references into drawing sets to enhance accuracy and reduce rework.
- Standardize drawing templates and prefab documentation to support repeatable workflows and improve cross-team communication.
- Stay current with industry trends, codes, and technologies to continually enhance our capabilities and service offerings.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, Professional Engineer license (or eligibility), a plus.
- Minimum of five years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the contracting sector.
- Proficiency in Revit and other design software (AutoCAD, Building Info Modeling (BIM) etc.); previous exposure to reality capture tools (OpenSpace, Trimble, Insta360) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) for workflow enhancement.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, ProjectSight and cloud-based document management systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, local codes) and best practices in electrical design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Datacenter new construction experience
- Prior experience or familiarity with electrical prefabrication workflows.
