Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support electrical and control systems for heavy maritime machinery and related equipment.
- Develop basic data acquisition systems in LabVIEW for monitoring and recording system performance.
- Integrate and configure sensors and instrumentation, including pressure transducers, velocity wires, electrical triggers, and other monitoring and feedback devices.
- Design and support control systems used to actuate hydraulic valves, pneumatic valves, hydraulic actuators, pneumatic actuators, and electric motors.
- Assist with system architecture, wiring concepts, I/O definition, control logic development, and interface design.
- Support testing, troubleshooting, integration, and validation of electrical and control systems in laboratory, shipboard, or industrial environments.
- Analyze system performance data and provide recommendations for design improvements and operational reliability.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, interface definitions, and engineering reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, technicians, and customer stakeholders to deliver effective system solutions.
- Support compliance with program, customer, and safety requirements throughout design, integration, and test activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, controls engineering, or a related field.
- Professional experience with LabVIEW.
- Professional experience designing basic data acquisition systems using sensors such as: pressure transducers, velocity wires, electrical triggers.
- Professional experience designing industrial control systems used to actuate valves and electric motors.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Pay
Pay Transparency Statement: AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $82,100.00/Yr. - USD $100,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
