Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Creates innovative new product designs in response to new product concepts through development and initial production
• Constructs and maintains new product timelines, including required external resources
• Designs and develops improvements to existing products
• Evaluates products, parts, and/or processes for cost efficiency and reliability
• Recommends manufacturing and design fabrication/construction applicable to best practice
• Troubleshoots design obstructions and provides cost-effective solutions
• Performs prototype design experimentation, rapid prototype, and conventional prototype fabrication
• Evaluates prototype design(s) for performance and reliability
• Writes products specifications and provides print documentation and testing verification methods to source and inspect the product
• Ensures the product meets specifications and publishes testing results
• Conducts and documents technical feasibility evaluations, qualifications, field, and competitive testing to verify the design
• Formulates development, unit, and tooling cost estimates
• Troubleshoots electrical design issues during development after the production start
• Produces project documentation that includes prints, engineering files, supplier communications, and Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s)
• Affords assistance to operations and outside suppliers throughout new product development stages, including tooling, process methods, assembly plans, and forecasting capacity requirements
• May manage smaller to moderately complex projects from concept, design, and through completion
• Develops timelines and ensures project success by maintaining timeline targets, budget responsibilities, and quality requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in product design and development
• Experience with CAD software and prototyping techniques
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot design issues
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
