Electrical Engineer 2/3
Responsibilities
- Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline.
- Perform conventional engineering design, analysis, and calculations.
- Provides system integration within and across disciplines.
- Provides construction and project support.
- May provide direction to technicians.
- Develop, review, and support engineering design packages.
- Provide construction, field, and project engineering support.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-discipline team.
- Apply engineering technology and tools to deliver high-quality work.
- Interface with stakeholders across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuously improves work processes to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years (level 2) or 8 years (level 3) of relevant engineering experience aligned with the responsibilities above.
- Familiarity with low power,
- Working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and DOE/NNSA codes, standards, and criteria relevant to electrical engineering.
- Proven knowledge of commonly applied codes and standards at DOE and DoD facilities (e.g., NQA 1, IBC, NFPA, NEC).
- Prior experience facilitating and developing engineering design packages.
- Familiarity with typical engineering deliverables (e.g., construction documents).
- Experience with computer aided design/drafting software or markup tools.
- Design experience in Power with construction documentation and specs.
- Software knowledge: conductor sizing, conduit sizing, and junction boxes.
- Experience with mitigating the field and the ability to access the plant and walk around.
Qualifications
United States Citizenship
Must be able to obtain and maintain DOE Q Security Clearance.

Schedule
This role may require a weekend-shift schedule: After completion of a training period, employees may work Friday–Monday, 10-hour shifts. The training period will follow a Tuesday–Friday 10-hour shift schedule. Shift/weekend assignments are determined by management based on operational needs.
