Electrical Designer

Location: Houston, TX 77072. Duration: 12 months. Job type: Temporary Assignment. Work type: Onsite.

Responsibilities

• Provide and check drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM) as per customer requirements.
• Prepare bulk Material Take‑Offs (MTOs) and detailed BOMs under engineer supervision.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to Engineering and QA/QC standards.
• Prepare layout drawings for customers to present proposed equipment and its function.
• Develop and complete electrical deliverable drawings and documents, including cable routing, panel drawings, panel layout, electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, loop diagrams, single‑line wiring schematics, cable schedules, lighting and instrument location/layout plans, earthing details, I/O schedules, and electrical termination hook‑ups.
• Assist service personnel by simulating problems in drawings to help resolve issues.
• Prepare sequence drawings and procedures for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
• Compile installation procedures for submission to the customer.
• Supervise outsourcing of engineering design work to third‑party design firms.
• Review vendor data and drawings to ensure compliance with client specifications and applicable standards.
• Generate report data from models and provide necessary design information to project, client, or third parties.
• Provide lessons‑learned feedback and update tools and procedures accordingly.

Qualifications

• Technical certification in the design discipline.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical scopes of work for hyperscale data‑center modules or a related environment.
• Ability to produce drawings and sketches that illustrate designs and ideas.
• Experience with high‑density data centers and hyperscale environments (strongly preferred).
• General knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including IEC, IBC, OSHA, NEC, and NFPA.
• Experience working with computer‑aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software.

Skills

• Mastery of Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
• Proficiency with PDF editors (Adobe, Foxit, or equivalent).
• SolidWorks (required).
• Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Navisworks Manager / Freedom.
• SAP (ERP tool with engineering modules and transactions).
• Autodesk Revit.
• Autodesk BIM 360.
• Fluency, both written and verbal, in English.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across functional teams.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Creative thinking to identify opportunities that enhance the client experience.
• High work ethic with a focus on quality and due diligence.

Pay

$30.00 – $50.00 per hour.

Schedule

Shift: 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
