About The Position

As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for pre-engineering, modeling, and reporting power system studies utilizing SKM, providing electrical power, communication, and design services, along with supporting project schedules and quality control to achieve safe, high-quality, and efficient project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Hasa growth mindset and is always looking to continually learn and grow.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code and other building codes as they relate to design.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to support field electricians.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems from low voltage through medium voltage.
  • Experience performing or supporting arc flash, short-circuit, and protective device coordination studies.
  • Proficiency using SKM Power*Tools (or similar power system analysis software such as ETAP or EasyPower).
  • Experience creating and modifying electrical one-line diagrams using AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical construction drawings, specifications, and equipment submittals.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports and present findings to internal teams and customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Trained and proficient with design techniques, electrical specifications, documentation, and systems design work.
  • To read, interpret and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications.
