Responsibilities
- Design electrical and control systems for automated manufacturing equipment
- Work with project managers and sales to define project specs and requirements
- Analyze specs and performance requirements to develop control system designs
- Create design drawings, BOMs, control cabinet layouts, and field interconnection wiring diagrams
- Ensure designs meet applicable standards and codes
- Stay current on PLC and operator control panel advancements
- Design control systems using customer-specified components as needed
- Modify controls on existing customer equipment, ensuring safety and functionality
- Travel to customer sites for design info gathering, troubleshooting, and training
- Design control systems compliant with hazardous area classifications (flammable gases)
- Ensure electrical systems meet OSHA and state/local safety requirements
- Use AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Inventor, and Microsoft Office
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Engineering/CAD, or Bachelor's in E.E.T./BSEE
- 3-5 years Electrical Design experience
- Advanced knowledge of electrical currents, power, and automation controls
- Proficient in AutoCAD (Inventor a plus)
- Strong electrical, analytical, and mathematical skills
- Able to travel ~10%, including domestic and occasional international
