Position and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for creating and establishing designs that align with best practices, client requirements, and adhere to Codes & Standards. You will apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings for assigned projects, while providing guidance and leadership to drafters to ensure compliance with company and client design standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate design and detail drawings, including plans/sections and isometrics, to support Discipline Leads.
- Manage and maintain Project Documentation, including flat files, reference/stick files, and CAD drawings.
- Serve as Project Lead and/or Discipline Lead for select projects by estimating work hours, developing scope of work, making staffing recommendations, checking drawings, completing quality processes, providing monthly Discipline updates, and attending project meetings.
- Interact with clients to convey project design and identify scope changes.
- Collaborate with other departments and suppliers to obtain necessary information.
Education, Experience, And Skills
- The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in computer functions required for AutoCAD and/or Inventor design.
- Affiliate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Five years of drafting experience.
- Working knowledge of National Electric Codes, reference documents, and guides.
- Understanding of power distribution (480V - 12kV), lighting, grounding, motor controls, and heat tracing.
- Demonstrated electrical design experience in energy, chemical, or industrial sectors preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
- Effective multitasking and organizational skills for enhanced efficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
