Electrical Construction Traveling Assistant Project Manager NTS
About the role
The position of Assistant Project Manager for our National Tech Systems team will be traveling to support several job-sites across the US. This person can be based in areas outside of the Regional corporate office.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of coordination support in a variety of areas, partnering with construction project management and field staff.
- Manage all aspects of project documentation including submittals, RFIs and project meeting minutes.
- Supervise and direct project activities as assigned by the PM including planning and coordinating, circumventing/resolving problem areas, ensuring all company/project policies, procedures and standards are maintained, etc.
- Maintain all change order, submittal and document control logs within Viewpoint.
- Aid PM and PX with interactions with subcontractors to ensure correct documentation and drawings for the Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
- Create Job Information Sheets and establish job files under the direction of the PM or PX.
- Assume temporary total project supervision responsibilities in the absence of the PM.
- Read and understand basic electrical drawings and specifications.
- Aid with establishing workflow breakdowns in conjunction with Field Supervisors and Project Managers.
- Aid with ensuring project billings are accurate and submitted timely, monthly, and per contract documents.
- Assist in writing and submitting quality RFIs.
- Aid PM to ensure timely payment to subcontractors and vendors.
- Review and update status of construction schedules as per request of PM or PX.
- Aid Project Management team with the setup of project budgets in Viewpoint in conjunction with Field Supervisor.
- Work with Payroll department to ensure accurate Payroll information has been submitted.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in construction project management or similar field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic understanding of electrical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to travel to various job sites across the US.
Benefits
Salary range for this position is $80,000-$125,000 annually. Opportunity for a discretionary year-end bonus. 401k with a 40% employer match (up to federal limit.)
