Electrical CAD Technician

About the role

The Electrical CAD Technician will assist technical teams of detailers, designers, and engineers to create world-class detail on a variety of projects. This position involves developing computer-aided drafting design solutions, preparing and revising drawings, and adhering to company and client drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
• Prepare and revise plot drawings.
• Adhere to company and client drafting standards and procedures, as well as the drafting practices of the selected discipline.
• Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
• Utilize standard drafting detail programs for tasks.
• Contribute to continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.
• Research solutions to project concerns and recommend solutions to design problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED, with coursework in drafting technology (required).
• CAD background with some experience in GIS (preferred).
• Specialized CAD certification (preferred).
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• AutoCAD experience (required).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner with an aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
• Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship.
