About the role
The Electrical CAD Technician will assist technical teams of detailers, designers, and engineers to create world-class detail on a variety of projects. This position involves developing computer-aided drafting design solutions, preparing and revising drawings, and adhering to company and client drafting standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
- Prepare and revise plot drawings.
- Adhere to company and client drafting standards and procedures, as well as the drafting practices of the selected discipline.
- Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
- Utilize standard drafting detail programs for tasks.
- Contribute to continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.
- Research solutions to project concerns and recommend solutions to design problems.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED, with coursework in drafting technology (required).
- CAD background with some experience in GIS (preferred).
- Specialized CAD certification (preferred).
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- AutoCAD experience (required).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Self-motivated and eager learner with an aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship.
