About the Role

The Electrical Assistant Project Manager will provide project, supervisory, and coordination support for ongoing project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers in documenting and logging change orders, submittals, requests for information (RFIs), and other project documentation.
  • Attend meetings and assist with project coordination activities to facilitate project success.
  • Work with supervisors, trade contractors, and suppliers to support the operations team.
  • Manage schedules, project progress, shop drawing requirements, and material releases to ensure adherence to project objectives, schedule completion, and timely deliveries.
  • Assist Project Manager(s) in monitoring project performance on assigned projects.
  • Assist in managing established schedules, weekly reporting, project budget, and quality standards in compliance with plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Assist in regular review of job costs, reports, project history, and purchase order history.
  • Review and interpret plans, shop drawings, and other project documents to identify change management needs, trade-specific take-offs, and document pricing requirements.
  • Cultivate a cooperative working relationship with managers, supervisors, fellow employees, and customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of national and state-specific codes/amendments and understand their application in local projects.
  • Attain and maintain knowledge of building construction means and methods.
  • Accurately document project status updates in a timely manner.
  • Effectively manage tasks requiring changes in work plans or schedules.
  • Attain and maintain familiarity with relevant trade systems directly and indirectly associated with new construction.
  • Reinforce safety standards and report accidents or incidents to the Safety Manager per Company Policy.
  • Assist in managing the close-out processes, including updating punch lists and gathering information for record drawings.
  • Assist in creating accurate and detailed material purchase orders for equipment and miscellaneous materials.
  • Directly manage small construction projects under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager to develop experience for becoming a Project Manager.
  • Maintain digital documentation such as purchasing and change orders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or Project Engineer, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proficient computer skills in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
  • Preferred: Experience in the new-construction field.
  • Preferred: Associate degree and/or trade school.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, and lift.
  • Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.

Schedule

Standard work schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Must be willing to be flexible as job requirements may change.
