Electrical Analytical Engineering Consultant 2
About the role
This position offers a hybrid work schedule combining both office and remote work. The Electrical Analytical Division focuses on providing critical electrical analysis and consulting services for various S&L power projects, including substation, transmission line, conventional power, nuclear, and renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform relay setting calculations
- Conduct power system calculations
- Analyze arc flash scenarios
- Evaluate cable ampacity
- Carry out transient analysis
- Investigate harmonic issues
- Assess renewable energy systems
- Design grounding and induction strategies
- Provide on-site consultation at client offices and project sites
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or relevant industry experience) is required.
- A Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in electrical analysis.
- Experience using software like ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, and EMTP-RV.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to lead and collaborate with others.
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, etc.
- Successful completion of the Professional Engineering (PE) exam.
