USC/GC candidates must be local to Phoenix, AZ for this hybrid role.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced consultant to design and implement reporting and executive dashboards for Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) controls. The consultant will translate existing SDLC controls into automated reporting and dashboards that provide visibility into control adoption, compliance, exceptions, and trends. The ideal candidate has experience with software engineering metrics, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), data analytics, and executive reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and understand the existing SDLC control framework, control definitions, and reporting requirements.
- Identify and document data sources required to measure each control.
- Design reporting architecture and data models that support scalable SDLC control reporting.
- Build interactive dashboards and scorecards for engineering leadership, risk, compliance, and executive stakeholders.
- Develop automated reporting that measures control compliance, control effectiveness, and team, application, and portfolio-level performance.
- Establish data quality validation and reconciliation processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, DevOps, platform teams, and governance stakeholders to validate metrics and reporting.
- Document dashboard logic, metric definitions, data lineage, and reporting processes.
- Provide knowledge transfer and documentation to enable ongoing maintenance by internal teams.
Requirements
- Strong, hands-on Elastic Stack experience (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana).
- Python is a must-have.
- Experience working with data from engineering/CI-CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab, Jira, ServiceNow, Datadog, and similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and DevOps processes, including source control, builds, testing, deployment pipelines, and production releases.
- Experience building dashboards, reporting, metrics, and engineering insights.
- Experience integrating data through APIs, ETL, SQL, or similar methods.
- Basic Linux/application support knowledge.
- Familiarity with Redis and Kafka (helpful but not required).
- Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience developing enterprise reporting and dashboards.
- Experience working with SDLC, DevSecOps, software engineering, or technology governance.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle processes and engineering metrics.
- Experience translating business and compliance requirements into measurable KPIs and dashboards.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems using APIs or ETL processes.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and requirements gathering skills.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The best profile is an Elastic Stack / Observability Engineer, Elasticsearch Engineer, or DevOps/Platform Engineer with significant hands-on experience building with Elasticsearch and Kibana, rather than someone who has only used Kibana for log viewing. Financial services experience is not required.
