EKG Technician

This position is responsible for performing inpatient and outpatient electrocardiograms, treadmills, holter and event monitors, and other technical studies. These tests require the ability to identify and assess cardiac rhythm changes. Additional duties include schedule coordination, office tasks, training new employees, and operating fax machines, computers, and multi-phone lines. The role may also require performing designated Lead duties in the absence of the Lead Technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient and outpatient electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Conduct treadmill stress tests
• Apply and monitor holter and event monitors
• Identify and assess cardiac rhythm changes
• Coordinate scheduling for tests and procedures
• Handle office duties, including computer and multi-phone line operation
• Train new employees
• Perform Lead Technician duties as needed

Requirements

• National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required upon hire)

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program (preferred)
• 3+ years of EKG experience (preferred)
• Experience with holter and event recorders, and cardiac stress testing (preferred)
• Office experience, including typing and patient contact in a hospital setting (preferred)

Pay

Pay range: $31.68 - $47.05 per hour (base pay). Additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses.
