Primary Purpose
Performs routine and emergency EKG's per doctor's request to provide a diagnostic tool for diagnosis and treatment.
Minimum Specifications
Education/Experience: Must have completed a Medical Assistant course that includes EKG OR must have six months of experience performing cardiographic procedures. Prefer six months in high volume acute care hospital setting.
Equivalent Education and/or Experience: May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.
Skills or Special Abilities
- Must be able to identify the proper placement of electrodes for a 12-Lead EKG.
- Must be able to perform 12-Lead EKG.
- Must be able to utilize the MUSE (EKG Management System) for edit of EKGs prior to physician interpretation.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and hospital staff.
- Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of PC operations and the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software in a Windows environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of equipment in order to monitor its general working condition.
- Utilizes creativity and innovation in attaining desired outcomes.
