About the role
We are seeking a reliable and patient-focused EKG Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will perform electrocardiograms and related cardiac diagnostic testing for patients in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clinical providers while supporting early detection and management of cardiovascular conditions in a geriatric population.
Responsibilities
- Perform EKGs, rhythm strips, and other non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort
- Properly place electrodes and operate EKG equipment according to established protocols
- Monitor patients during testing and report abnormal findings to the supervising clinician
- Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and timely submission of test results
- Maintain and clean equipment in compliance with safety and infection control standards
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff
- Travel to skilled nursing and long-term care facilities as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an EKG Technician training program preferred
- EKG Technician certification (CET or equivalent) preferred
- Prior experience performing EKGs strongly preferred
- Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings a plus
- Strong attention to detail and technical proficiency
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
- Comfortable working with the geriatric population
- Ability to travel as needed
