About the role

The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and improving environmental, health, transportation, and safety programs within the organization. This role involves inspecting work areas and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and health policies, and conducting investigations into incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, and Area Managers to ensure adherence to Rain For Rent's expectations.
  • Inspect work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety and health policies and regulations.
  • Document safety inspections, cite dangerous areas/procedures, recommend corrective procedures, and maintain safety equipment supply and availability.
  • Develop and present plans for department, regional, and branch continuous improvement based on the needs of each branch.
  • Assist branches with incident reviews and make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Identify company safety training needs, develop, and coordinate safety and health training programs.
  • Investigate incidents involving company vehicles, interview witnesses and drivers to determine possible causes of incidents, and make recommendations to the Sr. Regional EHS Manager for changes needed to improve compliance with governmental regulatory agency and company procedures.
  • Analyze reports obtained from governmental agencies to determine appropriate action.
  • Confirm and perform risk assessments concerning such problems as accident statistics, employee exposure, equipment maintenance, and equipment failure reports.
  • Recommend measures to improve safety records and to protect equipment.
  • Monitor Department of Transportation compliance including regulatory requirements for driver records and documentation, BIT compliance, and GPS Scorecard improvement.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of company policies.
  • Mentor, coach, and encourage employees, supervisors, and managers on safety culture, employee safety performance improvements, safety committees, and supervisor and peer interactions.
  • Manage projects assigned meeting expectations and timelines.
  • Coordinate projects with team members assigned, answer requests for help/assistance/information from teammates working on projects or needing knowledge and opinions.

Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training is required. A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is preferred. Ability to effectively deal with other people, especially other company personnel, to enlist needed cooperation in implementing regulatory requirements. Ability to deal with regulatory agencies, consultants, and other contractor personnel is also required.

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. Must be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, and may require frequent overnight travel (up to 50%).

Skills

Strong leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are required. Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and compliance is essential.

Pay

$101,000 - $126,000 annually DOE

Schedule

Regular onsite presence at RfR offices and branch locations is required. The role requires regular onsite presence and exposure to outdoor changing weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and heat (non-weather), vibration, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
