EHS Regional Safety Manager
About the role
The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and improving environmental, health, transportation, and safety programs within the organization. This role involves direct oversight of safety and health compliance, training, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Engage with Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, and Area Managers to ensure alignment with company expectations.
- Inspect work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with safety and health policies and regulations.
- Document safety inspections, recommend corrective procedures, and maintain safety equipment supply and availability.
- Develop and present plans for continuous improvement at the department, regional, and branch levels.
- Assist branches with incident reviews and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Identify safety training needs, develop, and coordinate training programs.
- Investigate incidents involving company vehicles, interview witnesses and drivers, and make recommendations for compliance improvements.
- Analyze reports from regulatory agencies and recommend measures to improve safety records.
- Manage risk assessments and monitor Department of Transportation compliance.
- Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
- Mentor, coach, and encourage employees on safety culture and performance improvements.
- Manage projects and coordinate with team members to meet expectations and timelines.
- Answer requests for help or information from teammates working on projects or needing guidance.
Requirements
Minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training is required. A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is preferred.
Qualifications
Ability to effectively communicate with others, especially other company personnel, to ensure cooperation in implementing regulatory requirements. Ability to interact with regulatory agencies, consultants, and contractors is also required.

Pay
$101,000 - $126,000 annually, DOE
Schedule
Regular onsite presence at RfR offices and branch locations is required. The work environment includes exposure to outdoor changing weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, extreme cold and heat, vibration, and risk of electrical shock. Noise levels are usually moderate.
