EHS Field Representative
Position Summary
The Field Representative serves as a liaison between the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of EMS (BEMS), Bucks County Emergency Health Services, EMS agencies, and Medical Command Facilities. Operations are guided by County requirements and general guidelines established by Federal, State, and County authorities related to EMS licensure, compliance, and system improvements. The Field Representative ensures proper processing of certification applications, conducts inspections, assists with investigations, and facilitates coordination among EMS agencies, municipal leaders, medical command facilities, and the Bucks County Communications Center. Reports directly to the Deputy Director of Emergency Health Services or designee in the execution of all duties. This position is designated as Essential Personnel. Employees in this role are required to report to work as scheduled and remain on duty as necessary to support operations, including during emergency situations or periods of inclement weather when Bucks County offices may be closed. Employees designated as Essential Personnel may be required to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, in order to meet operational needs.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Process all EMS agency and medical command facility certification applications, working in conjunction with applying agencies, facilities, and BEMS.
- Review all applications as required by applicable laws and BEMS.
- Conduct inspections of EMS agency vehicles, rescue service vehicles, and medical command facilities as required by applicable laws and BEMS.
- Distribute licensure certificates and decals to agencies following BEMS approval of applications and inspection documentation.
- Absist with BEMS-approved investigations.
- Serve as Regional EMS Office liaison between medical command and receiving facilities.
- Serve as Regional EMS Office liaison to the Bucks County Communications Center for non-Quality Assurance issues.
- Participate in Bucks County Health Council meetings, when needed.
- Serve on committees pertinent to EMS as assigned by the Deputy Director or designee.
- Absist Bucks County Emergency Management as needed/requested.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher certification or eligible for Pennsylvania EMS certification.
- Emergency Medical Services Vehicle Operator (EMSVO) certification required.
- Maintain a Driver's license.
- PA Child Abuse clearance - current within one year prior to application.
- PA State Police Criminal Record Check - current within one year prior to application.
- FBI Background Check - current within one year prior to application.
- Must complete a PA EMS-approved CPR Instructor certification course within one year of hire and maintain certification.
- Must complete a BEMS-approved basic investigation course.
