Responsibilities

  • Lead and offer guidance to site team on risk assessment and risk prediction to mitigate risk of task-based activities.
  • Facilitate safety team meetings, problem-solving teams/meetings, and EHS planning meetings within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Support the location EHS Manager in the overall EHS process implementation and oversight.
  • Support development and implementation of the EHS management system.
  • Write procedures, administer requirements, and conduct recordkeeping.
  • Investigate all EHS incidents.
  • Coordinate the development of systems to ensure incidents/quarterly metrics are kept per guidelines.
  • Assist with site emergencies (spill response/guidance/coordinating training).
  • Ensure compliance with all EHS regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of EHS Management Systems, including ISO 14001:2015.
  • Provide oversight for an effective EHS internal Audit Self-Assessment Program.
  • Provide direction and oversight for respective EHS Single Point Accountable (SPA) personnel.
  • Coordinate EHS training programs and provide training for employees as needed.
  • Establish permanent EHS files for all units under their control, following company policies and procedures for records administration and retention.
  • Participate in investigation teams to assure prompt, thorough incident review and make appropriate corrective action recommendations.
  • Stay current and competent in the EHS profession through continuing professional education (seminars, courses, literature review, etc.).
  • Prepare and submit reports and other required submittals to company and all local, state, and federal regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Environmental Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in an environmental, health, and/or safety function.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5 years of professional experience in environmental, health, and/or safety function.
  • Knowledge of aerospace forging, machining, and fastening processes.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying, and documenting federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity and implementation of machine guarding and industrial hygiene programs.
