About the role
Nucor Skyline in Longview, WA seeks an EHS Coordinator to support all safety, environmental, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives. The role delivers professional EHS support to teammates, implements loss prevention and regulatory compliance programs, and drives continuous improvement in safety culture across facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide EHS leadership to improve and sustain a culture that values safety above all else
- Assist in implementing loss prevention, safety, health, environmental, security, and fire control efforts for teammates and facilities
- Work with state and federal safety and environmental regulations; analyze compliance and environmental permitting/reporting for air, water, and waste
- Implement best practices and effective communication systems for EHS issues
- Maintain safety and environmental management systems
- Assist with development of safe job analyses and safe job procedures
- Identify training needs and deliver training; audit safety and environmental efforts
- Participate in and/or lead safety focus teams; coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring
- Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
Minimum Qualifications
- Prior experience in EHS required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Safety and Environmental Management Systems and standards in the steel manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Safety & Environmental Management Systems and standards in a manufacturing environment or related field
- Experience with air, water, and waste permitting, compliance, and reporting
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, or related field
- OSHA 30-hour training
- Certified to conduct OSHA trainings
