BJC HealthCare Information Services (IS) enables the mission, strategy, and operating excellence of BJC HealthCare. Comprised of over 650 individuals, IS provides system development, implementation, support, and strategic IT planning to BJC’s hospitals and health service organizations.
About the Role
This remote position supports lab applications, with occasional onsite support required in the St. Louis metro area. Applicants must be located in the St. Louis metro area and have IT experience; lab experience is highly preferred.
Under moderate direction, the EHR Application Analyst II configures, modifies, tests, and maintains Epic and other clinical applications. The role builds collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, clinical users, and other departments to facilitate system usage and acceptance. Responsibilities include complex build and configuration tasks, advanced issue resolution, and second-tier end-user support to ensure system reliability and performance. Epic or applicable certifications are required within 6 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Designs, verifies, documents, amends, and refactors complex software configurations for deployment.
- Contributes to the selection of software configuration methods, tools, and techniques; applies agreed standards to achieve well-engineered outcomes.
- Participates in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work.
- Investigates and resolves issues relating to applications; follows agreed procedures to identify and resolve application issues.
- Uses application management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics; carries out agreed applications maintenance tasks.
- Develops and executes test plans and test cases; collaborates across teams to enable comprehensive test coverage.
- Analyzes and reports on test activities, results, issues, and risks, including the work of others.
- Evaluates design options and prototypes to obtain user feedback on system requirements; selects appropriate tools to evaluate user experiences.
- Ensures incidents are handled according to agreed procedures; prioritizes and diagnoses incidents, investigates causes, and seeks resolution.
- Escalates unresolved incidents; documents and closes resolved incidents.
- Contributes to testing and improving incident management procedures.
- May participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- 2–5 years of experience (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience (preferred).
- IT experience; lab experience is highly preferred.
- Must be located in the St. Louis metro area.
- Epic or applicable certifications required within 6 months of hire.
