Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and coordination of all plant EHS programs and policies.
- Conduct daily safety walks, inspections, and audits within all production and support areas.
- Aid with Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), behavior-based safety processes, and risk elimination activities.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
- Maintain EHS documentation, training records, and compliance files.
- Aid with OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory compliance tasks.
- Care for environmental programs such as waste management, stormwater, air emissions, and recycling.
- Deliver or assist with employee safety training for all shifts.
- Support the plant Safety Committee and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track and report safety metrics, near misses, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Aid with emergency response plans, drills, and preparedness activities.
- Conduct PPE assessments, ergonomic reviews, and hazard identification activities.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or technical training in Safety, Environmental Science, Manufacturing, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred but not required).
- 1–3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment; metals or extrusion experience a plus.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Proactive and detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 30 CPR/First Aid
- Safety-related certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Associate Safety Professional, OSHA 10, Certified Industrial Hygienist)
