EFDA I/Dental Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a talented Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or Dental Assistant to join our team. We are open to full-time or part-time positions, depending on your preference.

Pay

Hourly rates based on experience:

• Expanded Functions Dental Assistant: $27–$32/hour
• Dental Assistant: $22–$28/hour

Schedule

Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Assists doctors with charting, placement of fillings, operatory set-up/clean-up, and patient education.
• Performs expanded duties following state regulations and compliance, including:
  • Placing amalgam or composite fillings
  • Adapting temporary crowns
  • Removing surgical sutures
  • Applying topical fluoride treatments
  Limitations apply per state requirements.
• Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor’s direction, and ensures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
• Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating dentist.

Qualifications

• EFDA Certification or on-the-job training as required by state regulations
• Radiography licensure for the respective state
• 1–5 years of experience preferred; new graduates will be considered
• CPR Certification is required
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Knowledge of dental charting software and digital X-rays, with the ability to learn new programs as necessary
