About the role
This position involves skilled professional and technical work involving patient contact and the performance of various neurophysiological tests. Work is performed under general supervision in accordance with established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Performs test on neonate, pediatric and adult patients.
- Apply electrodes and manipulate and troubleshoot equipment.
- Elicit full patient cooperation and handle apprehensive individuals.
- Follow verbal and written instructions, learn new equipment and procedures.
- Relate to co-workers, nurses, physicians, and others in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain professional confidences and earn patient's trust.
- Learn and follow good infection control practices and have thorough knowledge of universal precautions.
- BLS trained according to AHA guidelines.
- Push equipment outside of the lab and learn proper technique for transporting, lifting, and moving patients.
- Type 35-40 words per minute and perform other clerical functions.
Requirements
- Registered EEG Technician preferred.
- One to two years of experience working as an EEG Technician or in the health care field preferred.

- Ability to properly apply electrodes and manipulate equipment.
- Ability to elicit full patient cooperation and handle apprehensive individuals.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and learn new equipment and procedures.
- Ability to relate to co-workers, nurses, physicians, and others in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to maintain professional confidences and earn the patient’s trust.
- Ability to learn and follow good infection control practices and have a thorough knowledge of universal precautions.
- BLS trained according to AHA guidelines.
- Ability to push equipment outside of the lab and transport, lift, and move patients.
- Ability to type 35-40 words per minute and perform other clerical functions.
