Job Duties
- Gathers appropriate information from the patient, patient's records, and family members, as well as other neurological symptoms and medications to writes an accurate comprehensive patient history.
- Recognizes patient or environmental artifacts and documents, eliminates or takes proper measures to monitor the artifact.
- Ensures patient safety always by taking appropriate action during patient emergency situations.
- Interacts with patients, families, physicians, and other members of the clinical staff and explains test procedures to the patient and family members present.
- P Practices basic infection control procedures relating to patient and equipment including electrodes.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Education Required – Minimum Of a High School Diploma Or Equivalent
- Preferred – Associate’s degree or completion of an END Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or completion of a Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) Program accredited by American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)
- Work Experience Required – Clinical experience equivalent to 3 or more years training in the field
- Certifications Required – Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Preferred – Eligible For Certification In Neurodiagnostic Technology
