EEG Tech I- Full Time- Day Shift

General Summary

General Summary EEG technologist I is an entry level position in the Neurophysiology Department. The tech will maintain patient safety while the patient is being monitored in the EMU (epilepsy monitoring unit) or while undergoing an 8 hour VEEG.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety while the patient is being monitored in the EMU (epilepsy monitoring unit) or while undergoing an 8 hour VEEG.
• Ensure electrode integrity.
• Visually watch and track (via camera) epilepsy patients (2-8 patients) via monitors.

Requirements

• High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Six months or more experience working in a patient care environment.
• Enrollment in or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accredited Electrodiagnostic (END) program, is preferred.

Certifications/Licenses

• Current BLS certification.
