EEG Technician (Full-Time, Varied)

Position Summary

The EEG Technician performs standard EEGs in all settings.

Desired EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE

Two years of hospital experience performing standard EEGs.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

• Current CPR certification
• Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG T.) (within 18 months of hire)

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

• Ability to learn to perform standard wake, drowsy and sleep EEG tests with general supervision
• Ability to learn to perform complex EEGs including extended and continuous EEG’s with and without video
• Technical competence, professional judgment, communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis
• Ability to perform patient scheduling and charge entry
