About the role
The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is seeking qualified candidates for various Technologist positions. ANTHC is a non-profit Tribal health organization dedicated to serving Alaska Native and American Indian communities. We provide comprehensive health services including medical care, wellness programs, disease research, and rural provider training.
Responsibilities
- Performs high quality diagnostic EEGs and EMGs on both adult and pediatric patients.
- Identifies and minimizes artifacts during EEG and EMG tests.
- Operates and monitors EMG instruments to measure and record electrical activity in peripheral nerves.
- Applies and removes electrodes from patients and cleans equipment at the end of the test.
- Brings any abnormalities to the attention of the physician.
- Schedules EEG and EMG tests and ensures patient safety during exams.
- Communicates with patients about test preparations, procedures, and answers their questions.
- Completes billing and medical documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintains logs of studies performed and archives them according to local laws.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Technologist I: One year work experience.
- Technologist II: One year department experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
- Technologist III: Three years' experience as a Technologist, including two years of supervisory experience.
- Certification in Basic Life Support.
- Technologist II: Electroencephalographic Technologist Certification within 2 years of hire.
- Technologist III: Electroencephalographic Technologist Certification prior to holding this position.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Alaska Tribal Health System, ANTHC, and Alaska Native culture(s).
- Basic skills in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of applications.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work with all patient age groups.
- Ability to follow established guidelines and procedures.
