Registered EEG Technologist II
Job Description
Maintures neurological responses to external stimuli and traces electrical pathways.
Scans, correlates, and clips studies accurately.
Observes EEG tracings and responds appropriately to seizure activity.
Explains testing procedures to patients and families using age-appropriate guidelines.
Performs studies with appropriate documentation, observes patients, troubleshoots equipment and physiological artifacts, and utilizes appropriate resources.
Evaluates recorded diagnostic data and reports abnormal findings to nurses and physicians.
Recognizes and takes appropriate actions to respond to evolving patient care needs.
Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as requested.
Maintains diagnostic testing equipment and supplies.
Conducts long-term monitoring in epilepsy and intensive/critical care units.
Monitors patients in Epilepsy Monitoring Units (EMUs) while adhering to protocols and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Grad or Equiv (Required)
- American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic & Evoked Potential Technologist (ABRET) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement, Registered Electroencephalography Technician (REEGT) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
