Educator - Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy - Adjunct
Position Overview
The Educator enhances the performance and professional development of Singing River Health System employees. He/She develops and coordinates educational programs and materials for traditional non-clinical areas of training. The Educator facilitates the development of SRHS departments through active participation in orientation, training, on-going staff development and evaluation for all levels of personnel served. The Educator participates in the development of formal and informal education programs and activities to improve quality standards and outcomes as well as staff performance expectations. He/She serves as a resource and educator on new policies, procedures, equipment, and training. The Educator keeps abreast of current training requirements and facilitates the implementation of SRHS initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develops and coordinates educational programs and materials for traditional non-clinical areas of training.
- Facilitates the development of SRHS departments through active participation in orientation, training, on-going staff development and evaluation for all levels of personnel served.
- Participates in the development of formal and informal education programs and activities to improve quality standards and outcomes as well as staff performance expectations.
- Serves as a resource and educator on new policies, procedures, equipment, and training.
- Keeps abreast of current training requirements and facilitates the implementation of SRHS initiatives.
- Adjusts working hours and availability as needed or as assigned (evenings/nights/weekends) to meet the educational needs of the staff.
- Comprehensive facilitation of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
- Contributes to the success of the High School Allied Health Career Technical Education program.
- Participates in relevant community engagement initiatives.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree required.
- Bachelor degree in Healthcare Administration, Education, Business, or health care related field preferred.
- Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
- BLS instructor certification required at (or within 6 months of) job start; must maintain certification.
- Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
- Two (2) years’ experience in Education or Human Resources.
- Previous teaching experience or evidence of teaching ability preferred.
Qualifications
- Education Associate’s Degree required.
- Bachelor degree in Healthcare Administration, Education, Business, or health care related field preferred.
- Licenses N/A.
