Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assess clinical rotations
- Grading assignments
- Communicating with clinical partners and preceptors
- Identifying student learning needs
- Maintaining current knowledge of industry standards
- Evaluating student achievement of curricular and course objectives
- Assisting with curriculum development
- Assisting in the development, evaluation, and revision of student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies
- Participating in program and department faculty meetings
- Participating in university functions
- Developing collaborative partnerships with clinical sites
- Expanding clinical sites
- Job placement
- Certification exam preparation
Requirements
- Current unrestricted certification as a phlebotomist or higher
- A minimum of two years recent clinical work experience as a phlebotomist in a phlebotomy lab environment
- Associate degree in healthcare related field
- Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare related teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN), licensed in the state of New Mexico
- Equivalent clinical credentialing (such as LPN, CMA, RMA, CCMA, or Certified Phlebotomy Technician)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Allied Health, or a related field
- Certified Bloodborne Pathogen Instructor
- Demonstrated expertise in venipuncture, specimen handling, safety protocols, and healthcare communication
