JOB SUMMARY
The Educator I, Parenting & Community Education, delivers the program model and plans and implements culturally sensitive and effective in-home and community-based parent, family, and community education services, while ensuring services are aligned with the Social Determinants of Health through a trauma-informed care lens as defined by the agency.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS AND FUNCTIONS

- Ability to understand and accurately hear the unspoken or partly expressed thoughts, feelings, and concerns of others, including cross-cultural sensitivity through a trauma-informed care lens.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED equivalency with four (4) years experience in social services or education required.
- Experience in developing and presenting prevention and education workshops or programs is desirable.
- Experience in understanding cultural differences and being sensitive to their implications on service delivery.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) is desirable.
- Staff will be required to submit proof of their vaccination status or may request exemption due to religious and/or medical accommodation.
- Certificate or license, as applicable, by the appropriate State agency as a qualified practitioner, and must maintain certification in at least one approved educational curriculum required by agency stakeholders.
- State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Talk and hear.
- Taste or smell.
- Lift up to 25 pounds.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus with good hand-eye coordination.
- Transport program and educational learning materials to various locations in-home and community sites.
PAY RANGE
$15 - $18 per hour
