Position Summary
The Youth & Family Educator delivers engaging educational programming that promotes leadership, personal development, academic success, and workforce readiness for youth participants. Working closely with the Youth & Family Services team, you will facilitate interactive workshops and activities aligned with our three core program pillars: Positive Youth Development, STEAM Exploration, and Career & Talent Pipeline Development.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate engaging workshops focused on leadership, life skills, communication, healthy decisionmaking, and personal growth.
- Deliver curriculum aligned with Positive Youth Development, STEAM education, and workforce readiness.
- Create inclusive, interactive learning environments that encourage participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
- Help youth develop essential workplace skills including teamwork, problem-solving, professionalism, goal setting, and effective communication.
- Integrate career exploration and workforce readiness activities alongside Youth Workforce Navigators.
- Career coordination educational activities, projects, and special events that reinforce program objectives.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, participant documentation, and program reports in compliance with organizational and grant requirements.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure high-quality programming across multiple sites.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
- Assist with community outreach and participant recruitment efforts.
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every young person feels valued and supported.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field.
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience working with youth in educational, afterschool, nonprofit, or community-based programs.
- Experience facilitating workshops, classroom instruction, or youth development programming.
- Experience working in school-based or community organizations is highly preferred.
- Strong classroom management and group facilitation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Passion for youth development and helping young people achieve their goals.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel throughout Broward and MiamiDade Counties.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for program activities and special events.
- Successful completion of a background investigation.
