Job Summary
The Educational Supervisor serves as a classroom-based instructional support leader responsible for ensuring that instructional, behavioral, and staff expectations are consistently implemented across assigned classrooms.Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Classroom Presence & Accountability
- Maintain a consistent, visible presence in assigned classrooms throughout the school day
- Ensure staff are actively engaged and fulfilling their roles and responsibilities
- Address and redirect concerns in real time to support a productive classroom environment
- Follow up on previously communicated expectations to ensure consistency and accountability
Instructional Support & Classroom Oversight
- Conduct regular classroom walkthroughs to ensure alignment with instructional and behavioral expectations
- Support the implementation of individualized student programming in alignment with IEPs
- Support the use of curriculum and instructional materials to promote student engagement and access to learning
- Reinforce consistency in classroom structure, routines, and student engagement practices
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to staff to support classroom effectiveness
Staff Support & Development
- Support teachers and paraprofessionals in understanding and meeting classroom expectations
- Aid in the integration of new staff into classroom environments
- Reinforce expectations for proactive engagement and appropriate staff-student interaction
- Model effective classroom practices when needed
Paraprofessional Oversight
- Monitor paraprofessional engagement and adherence to classroom expectations
- Provide real-time guidance and redirection to support effective classroom performance
- Communicate ongoing concerns or patterns to Assistant Principals and Human Resources for follow-up as appropriate
Program Consistency
- Support consistent implementation of behavior support strategies and classroom systems
- Reinforce school-wide expectations and initiatives across classrooms
- Identify inconsistencies and communicate them to leadership for action
Communication & Collaboration
- Serve as a point of contact between classroom staff and Assistant Principals
- Communicate classroom needs, concerns, and trends to leadership
- Collaborate with related service providers to support student needs
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to strengthening classroom practices and staff performance
- Assist in identifying areas where additional staff support or training may be needed
- Participate in meetings and discussions related to instructional support and school improvement
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
- New Jersey Teaching Certification required
- Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) certification required; Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) accepted
- New Jersey Supervisor Certification required
- Completion of the NJ Department of Education (DOE) approved criminal history background check.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in special education
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with behavioral and/or complex needs
- Prior experience in a leadership, mentoring, or coaching capacity preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to provide constructive, real-time feedback
- Knowledge of classroom management and instructional practices
- Organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Professional judgment and discretion
- 52-week full-time position aligned with the ADS school calendar
- Salary range: $83,000–$90,000 annually, based on experience and education
- Benefits eligibility after 60 days
